This is a practical gemology session to learn how to separate natural diamonds from synthetic diamonds and other popular colourless gemstones imitating diamonds, all while using simple and affordable tools that are mobile and easy to carry. There will be a simple quiz in the second session to consolidate your understanding.
Specifically, using our library of samples, you will learn to separate natural diamonds from:
Synthetic diamond
Moissanite
Zircon
Cubic Zirconia
YAG
Sapphire
Topaz
Glass
Ideally, you should already have some experience using a gemstone tweezer and a handheld 10x triplet loupe. Please inform us separately if you wish to attend but without knowledge on the above tools.
