The practical gemology workshop aims to introduce GemRight framework to understand colour of fei cui jadeites, a major rarity and price factor. Participants will have the opportunity to practise grading of colour on the large number of samples in the GemRight library and culminate in a short quiz in the second session to consolidate the learning.
Participants will also have the opportunity to match colour gradings to specific trade names used in Chinese-speaking circles of buyers and sellers.
As of 2026, GemRight Gemology is the only gemological research laboratory that provides grading for both texture and colour, and assigning the relevant trade names to eligible grades.
In the spirit of knowledge sharing in a relaxed environment, buying and selling of gemstones is strictly not permitted.
