This 2-session course aims to expose participants to main varieties of the chalcedony and quartz species through their historical significance, what colours to look out for, treatment information, how to care for them and hands-on opportunities to view and touch our samples from our extensive library of gemstones collected all over the world. With our signature small-class format, participants will also have ample opportunities to clarify internet myths at each section, and will have a physical copy of the relevant sections from GemRight’s gemstone encyclopaedia for note-taking and future reference.
You will also get to learn how to use a handheld 10x loupe to inspect the samples; the loupe is available for purchase from GemRight Gemology or you can bring your own. With 100% attendance and passing the test at the end of the course, participants will receive a certificate that you can display.
